5 months!

Where does the time go? Seriously!! I have been so busy ever since I went back to work. I am trying to enjoy every second because it is just flying by! Every month I post the update and I swear to myself that I am going to start blogging more, but then life happens. ha! Maybe I should start small and say I'll try to blog two days next week!

June 22, 2013
Happy 5 months sweet girl! This month has been great! You are growing like a weed. :) You are learning so much everyday and I love to watch you discover new things.

At your last check-up, the doctor cleared us to start slowly introducing solid foods. I felt a little apprehensive and I can't really explain why. Maybe it's because just about every person on my side of the family has some kind of food allergy. So we started with Rice cereal enhanced with DHA, we thought that was great! Well after the first day of cereal you had an outbreak of eczema. I thought it was just a fluke, I put your cream on and that was that. So we waited a couple of days and tried the cereal again, and BAM! Eczema outbreak again. We looked over the ingredients on the cereal and I guess because of the "DHA" part there was fish gelatin and tune oil. UGH! So we stopped the cereal all together and no eczema since. We decided not to rush things we the solid food stuff. We got some organic brown rice to try next, hopefully it will go better. We might just skip the cereal and go straight to peas. Yummy!

You got to meet my best friend growing up. She came in to see you from Houston! It was love at first sight!
You have started noticing when I leave the room and if I hand you to anyone else you watch me like a hawk. It makes me smile a little bit that you love Mommy so much, but I also want you to let other people hold you sometimes! ha!

You LOVE books! I think you just like listening to us talk. If I'm on the phone, you will stop playing and just watch me. A few times I have been on the phone while I'm holding you and you will reach up to touch my face. I can just see your little wheels turning trying to figure it all out.

You got to visit with your Great Grandma and your Great Great Grandma again. You are one lucky girl to have both of them around. Not many little girls get to meet their Greats!

You are the light of our lives little girl, we love you so much!

4 months!

What just happened? The last 4 months have been wonderful and exciting and have flown by at lighting speed. I can't even remember my life without my sweet girl!

My little Addy Bug,
You are 4 months old! You have grown soooo much in the past few weeks. You little personality is really starting to show. You love to "talk", once you start you really don't stop until you fall asleep. You are a social butterfly. You get that from Mommy. ha!

Things I want to remember:
  • We think that you are in the beginning stages of teething. You are SUPER drooly and always have your hand in your mouth chewing on it. We started keeping your teething toys in the fridge to keep them cold and you LOVE when they are cold.
  • You are doing so much better with Tummy Time. You lift your head all the way up and play for about 10 minutes before you get frustrated and start fussing.
  • You are rolling all the way from your back to your tummy. And you roll from your tummy to your side, almost all the way over but not quite yet.
  • You are really the happiest baby ever. You are constantly smiling and squealing! You are always in a good mood and no matter what kind of day I'm having, you make me laugh when I get home.
  • We now know that you hate to be hot. You are always kind of hot anyways, so when it's hot outside, you get REALLY mad. I guess you probably won't stay in TX for the rest of your life!
  • You have SO much energy. I have said it before, but we are in so much trouble when you start moving around. ha!

4 month stats:

Weight: 14.6 lbs.
Height: 25.25 in.
Head: I don't have the exact measurements with me, but it was in the 99%-you have a big head girl!
Diapers: Size 2
Clothes: mostly 3-6 months, you can still fit some 3 months but they are getting snug!

I can't imagine our lives without you! You are the most precious and awesome thing in my life!

Happy 3 Months!

April 15, 2013

Addison, you are 3 months old today! I can't believe how time is flying by!

What's new with you this month:

At your two month check up, you doctor told us to start weaning you from being swaddled while you sleep. I thought that you would never be able to sleep unswaddled, but you surprised me! It took a few weeks, but you are completely weaned from "the swaddle"! You are sleeping really well now. You sleep 6-7 hours at night and take a few good naps during the day. :)

You really started to get the hang of your routine and you love it! So do I! haha!

Mommy had to go back to work last week and it made me so sad to be away from you. But we are so lucky that your Grandmothers are watching you during the day. You are doing so good!

You are such an active girl! You are happiest right after you eat and you get your little legs going to fast. It makes me laugh so hard. I always ask you were you are running to. You are so observant and when you see something exciting, you get your legs going even faster!

You really found your voice this month. You talk and talk, sometimes I wonder what you are saying. You started laughing out loud and the first time it scared you, haha! I could just sit and talk to you forever.

You are a little drool machine, I can't keep you dry! The doctor said that it's the first stage of teething. I hope those teeth hold off a little longer, Mommy isn't ready for a teething baby yet.

You are starting to enjoy more tummy time. You haven't rolled over yet, but you are so close. You get your knees under and try to crawl. I have a feeling that you are going to be moving around before we are ready. ha!

I think that you discovered that your little hands are attached to you. You eat your left hand constantly! You figured out how to grab your toys and they go straight to your mouth!  We have some serious baby-proofing to do once you are on the go! ha!

You are the most precious thing in the world and we love you to pieces!

Happy 2 months!

Playing catch up again, I promise I will be back on schedule soon!

From March 19, 2013:

Addison, you are two months old today!

Your little personality really started forming this month. You are a happy baby for the most part but you really don't like to be messed with. You have gone from hating your diaper changes to loving them. That is actually when you are the most content. After you have your diaper changed you are such a happy girl.

You have discovered your voice and you make little noises and laugh out loud, it's so cute! You love to "talk". I think that once you start talking, you aren't going to stop!

You do really well when we are out in public for the most part. If I have to feed you while we are out I usually have to carry you for a while becuase you don't like to go back in the stoller once you are out. You love looking around at everything.

You got to go out to a fancy restaurant for Mommy's birthday and you behaved so well! You are already a little Dallas socialite!
You are growing so fast. I was so sad to have to pack up your newborn clothes this month. You outgrew the length pretty fast!

You don't like to take naps but at our 2 month well visit the doctor told me to let you sleep as long as you want at night and she said that would helps with the nap situation. You are so sweet when you do sleep. You are still sleeping in our room in your pack and play, we are not ready to move you yet. :)

We had your 8 week doctor visit and you got your first shots. I thought I would be ok but as soon as your started crying, I started crying! I don't like you to be upset!
2 month stats:

Weight: 11 (55%)
Height: 23.5 (92%)
Head: (98%) You have a big head!!
Diapers: Size 1
Clothes: 0-3 months, 3 months

Fun stuff about you:
  • You don't like Daddy to hold you. He makes you laugh so hard when Mommy is holding you but if he takes you from me you flip out. You are a Mommy's girl and that melts my heart. We are working on the Daddy thing though. ;)
  • We give you a little Chammomile tea before bed to ehlp with your gas. I thought the doctor was crazy when he told us to do this, but it really does seem to help.
  • To add to the comment are a very gassy girl!
  • You have acid refulx and I have had to stop eating dairy which has been really hard, but I would do anything for my girl!
  • You look just like Daddy, but you act like me! haha!

Happy One Month!

I'm playing catch up here, I'm a whole month behind! Slowly but surely I'm getting back into my routine so hopefully blogging will be more on my radar! Here is the one month post:

February 19, 2013
Addison, you are 4 weeks old today!

You weigh about 9 lbs and you are 21.5 inches long, you are going to be a tall girl!

You are still wearing newborn size diapers and newborn clothes which really surprises me. Everyone told us that newborn stuff would only last for a week ha!

You are sleeping through the night (5-6 hour stretches) and that makes Mommy so happy! You really don't like to sleep during the day though. You can really only sleep good when you re swaddled tightly.

You don't like to wake up in the morning, but once you eat you are such a happy girl!

We love you so much!

Bumpdate-40 Weeks!

How Far Along: 40 weeks! I really can't believe that I'm writing this post. I totally thought that I would not be pregnant at this point. haha!

Total Weight Gain: 33 lbs.

Size of Baby: We had our 40 week appointment today and she is measuring 8 lbs. 3 oz. The doctor said that at this point that could be off a little bit because it's hard to get exact measurements because they are so squished in there. But everything looks good and she looks healthy and that's all that matters to me!

Maternity Clothes:
I've been living in leggings and yoga pants. I'm not even kidding, wear them every day! And the only shoes that fit me are my Uggs, thank goodness it has been cold here! I was able to score two new pairs of Uggs since they are the only shoes that are comfortable right now, ha!

Gender: Baby Girl!

I feel her move around all the time. I can tell that she is running out of room in there. She hasn't kicked me in the ribs yet, but her feet are way on the side and it kind of makes me jump when she kicks now. My movement on the other hand has been very slow! ha!
Not. Good. I can't even get comfortable in the recliner now. I'm lucky to get a few hours of sleep at night. I have been napping whenever I can.
What I miss:
Fruit Loops and oreos! Not together of course, ha! Still craving loaded baked potatoes from Dickey's BBQ. They are soooo good!

Other crazy symptoms:
Nothing really crazy. Heartburn. All. The. Time. It kind of sucks. But I feel like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, so I'm hanging in there! My back has really started hurting this past week. I have been having contractions off an on but nothing that lasts.

Best Moment this week:
Just being able to rest.

Thanks for stopping by!

Showered with Love

I'm finally posting about the awesome baby showers! Yay! We had one early in September with my MIL's friends. Then our next one was in Houston in November with my friends and family there. we had almost 30 people come! It was so amazing!

My two best friends that I have known since the 5th grade and their moms hosted the Houston shower. I have known these ladies for almost 20 years and they are all family in my book! I love them all so much!

The day was perfect! The theme matched the baby bedding that we picked out. Everything was pink and green owls. They went overboard with PINK (which I couldn't get enough of). It was sooooo cute!

Katie, her mom and sister made the most beautiful diaper cake that I have ever seen in my life. I know that they put blood, sweat and tears in to making it and I appreciate it so much!

The food was absolutely fabulous!

And the gifts...oh my the gifts. I could not believe how much stuff we got. It was unreal. I  was so happy that my family came to see us, it was so fun!

Then in December my good friend and my Mom hosted a shower for all of my friends here. Over 40 people came! That in itself made me feel more loved than anything, just that so many people are excited to celebrate this baby with me. It was the best feeling!

(Mom and Melody, my beautiful hostesses)

My mom's house was turned into a sea of PINK!

So many good friends came to celebrate with us!

Friends even came from out of town, and I was soooo happy to see them!

The only bad things that I can say about these days was that they went by too fast! I feel truly loved by everyone came and showered Baby and I with love!!

Bumpdate-38 Weeks!

How Far Along: 38 weeks! I'm really feeling "ready" now.

Total Weight Gain: Had our 38 week appointment yesterday and I'm up to 33 lbs.

Size of Baby: Baby girl is the size of a pumpkin, according to At our 36 week appoinment we had a sonogram and she was around 6.14 lbs. The doctor guessed that she would be around 8 lbs if we go to 40 weeks.

Maternity Clothes:
I've switched to all maternity clothes, they are just more comfortable at this point.
Gender: Baby Girl!

I feel her move around all the time. I can tell that she is running out of room in there. She hasn't kicked me in the ribs yet, but her feet are way on the side and it kind of makes me jump when she kicks now.
Not. Good. I think it's a mixture of being anxious about L&D and just not being comfortable. Most nights I end up on the recliner.
What I miss:
I am starting to miss my body being my own. I think it's just because I'm getting uncomfortable at this point.

Best Moment this week:
Just being able to rest.
