Weekend Whirlwind

I have to start this post by posting a pic of this sweet boy that we babysat last week for my parents. He is so good, but for some reason whenever he comes to stay with us, Dewey thinks it's ok for him to be bad. I think he just gets excited and doesn't know what to do with all of his energy. ha!

On Friday night, Hunter had a friend in town and he stayed the night with us. We went out to eat at a trendy little place near our house and walked around after. Before we knew it, it was already 11:00 p.m., which for me is laaate! By the time we got home and settled, it was almost 1:00 am before I was asleep.  I was soooo tired on Saturday. It would have been nice if I didn't have anything to do and could have lounged around all day, but nope. We had a fun-filled night ahead of us!

Saturday night we went to see Aerosmith! There were about 18 of us and my Dad got us a suite and a limo. We were fancy for the night. ha! We had so much fun!

Yesterday, I did lay around all day to try to catch up on some sleep, but I feel even more tired today. I should have called in to work tired. ha!

Have a great Monday!
Much love,
Jess

Five Question Friday!

I'm so glad this it's Friday. Lately I have been mentally cheering myself to Wednesday because that's 1/2 way through the week. But Friday...sweet release!
On to the questions...

1} What do you call them- flip flops, sandals, thongs, or slippers?

Flip-flops...and sometimes just Flops, because I'm lazy like that.

2} Are you a "my kids can do no wrong" kind of mom or a "Johnny punched you? Well what did you do to him first?!" kind of mom?

I don't have kids around yet, I would like to think that I would be the latter and ask what they did to make Johnny punch them.
And for the record...all kids can do wrong. ha!

3} Would you confront a good friend that looked/looks down on your husband/significant other?

Probably not. I pick my battles and I try to veer away from drama if I can. If that friend were constantly saying things in front of me or to me, then the boxing gloves would probably come out.

4} Biggest pet peeve?

Crazy drivers. I know that is relative, what is crazy to me might be normal to you. But crazy drivers scare me.

5} What's your favorite take out meal?

It changes depending on my mood. I love ordering pizza and siting on the couch watching a movie in our comfy clothes. Bliss :)

Have a great weekend!
Jess

12 Weeks

So  I decided to do the weekly update post, mostly for me to be able to look back on because I'm sure a lot of this stuff will be forgotten. I am two weeks behind, this is the 12 week post, but I'm actually 14 weeks. I will catch up soon.

I have no picture that I like this week, so you get a lime :)

How Far Along: 12 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 2 lbs.

Size of Baby: Our little nugget is about the size of a lime

Maternity Clothes: My mom took me shopping for some staple things since my clothes are getting a tiny bit too tight. I have been wearing my regular clothes still with the bella band, but I have a feeling that won't last very long.

Gender: We will find out in Sept.!

Movement: None yet

Sleep: I haven't been sleeping as well as I normally do. I have been having crazy dreams lately that have been waking me up.

What I miss: Feeling normal

Cravings: This week, I was craving Chick-Fil-A. I felt like I would choke someone for some waffle fries!

Other crazy symptoms: Nothing really crazy. I have been feeling pretty sick since about week 6. Morning sickness that lasts all day. Not. Fun. I just try to be thankful that there is a little miracle inside me and not whine too much. It's really hard though ;)

Best Moment this week: Hearing the Nugget's heartbeat and feeling good enough to make it to the gym once!

Two Little Feet

I  have been keeping a secret. It's been hard not to spill the beans. In January, our family will be growing by two little feet.

We are so excited and a little scared! ha! It's crazy how this little baby has already changed our lives so much. We started going through our things to make room and things that we never thought that we would get rid of don't even get a second thought. It's so weird.

That's one of the reasons that I have been so bad about blogging lately. I have wanted to shout from the rooftops! So just in case I slipped, I just stayed away from all social media. ha!
Yep, we are going to be parents and Dewey is going to be a big brother. No turning back now, here we go!

Call of the Wildman-Dewey Style

So, a few weekends ago I broke down and watched "Call of the Wildman" with the Turtle Man. It was actually pretty funny, that guy cracks me up. He caught all kinds of animals with his bare hands...crazy. What I did not notice is that Dewey was sitting next to me taking notes on how to catch critters with his bare hands.
We don't live in the country, but you might be fooled with all of the wildlife in our backyard. A few weeks ago Dewey found a bunny nest. I noticed that he had his nose almost buried in the ground sniffing something and then all of the sudden he jumped back and a tiny baby bunny came out of the hole making a screeching sound like I have never heard before. After that incident, I guarded the nest every time I let Dewey outside so that he couldn't get to it.
A few weeks went by and I thought that it would be safe to let Dewey roam free without me watching over the bunnies, he had really stopped paying attention to them. I was only looking away for a second when I heard Dewey scuffle around and saw that he had this little baby cornered.

Isn't he cute? He was about the size of a mouse!
It was awful, Dewey was trying to catch the bunny just like Turtle Man. Luckily, I got over there in time to scoop Dewey up and save the bunny. Now Dewey sits at the backdoor all day and night watching for bunnies.
That boy cray. Moral of the story, Dewey watches too much TV. ha!

Much Love,
Jess
