Halloween Candy & 5QF!

First order of business today is this sweet treat I made for everybody in my office for Halloween...

I know, I know. I'm trying to be healthy and cut out sugar, but dang it's hard! These were so easy to make...click here to see how!

I have been waiting for it to get cold enough here to wear my new knee-high boots. I woke up this morning to 39 degree weather...oh yeah....I'm rocking the boots today!

Now on to Mama M.'s Five Question Friday!

1. If you could be a fly on any wall, which would you choose?
Do I have to pick just one wall? I could be all grown up and say something smart like the white house or the pentagon. But if we are being honest here, I think I would like to be a fly on the wall of the Kardashian house!
2. Do you budget your Christmas shopping or just get it done without budgeting?
This is the first year that I am actually budgeting for Christmas. I usually wait until the week of Christmas to do any shopping. That is so stressful, I don't know why I do that to myself. I have been saving here and there strictly for Christmas and I am going to try to get most of my shopping done the first week of December. That makes me sweat just thinking about it! Literally, i hate when stores feel the need to blast the heat when the temperature drops below 50 degrees. Hello, I'm wearing a jacket and scarf!
3. What is the craziest fad diet you have ever done?
I have never been one to stick to crazy diets, but a friend at work did the cabbage diet and couple of years ago. That was pretty bazzaro.
4. Is there a TV show that you have seen every episode/season of?
Oh yes ma'am. I watch waaaay too much TV. The first show that comes to mind is Friends. Never missed one episode! I also love Grey's Anatomy and have never missed an episode of that either. You could also put The Vampire Diaries on the list even thought that's not as impressive because this is only the second season!
5. What one song always pulls at your heart?
You are going to think I'm crazy, but, The National Anthem always makes me feel all warm and tingly inside.
Have a fun and safe Halloween!

Texas Baseball & Puppy Love

We have some major baseball fever happening down here in Texas y'all! Our very own Texas Rangers made it to the world series and we could be more happy about it! I have been going to Rangers games since I moved to North Texas 10 years ago. They didn't always win, but between you and me I only went for the hot dogs. Ahem....moving on. Nobody deserves this more then our Rangers. But even if they don't win. I'm proud of them for being there!

Last night I made pulled pork in the crock pot for Hunter's birthday. He loves it! I do different things with it every time I make it. Last night we had pulled pork sliders. They were delish!

And in puppy news...We have Dublin again this week.

Can't you tell how excited Dewey is to have Dublin over? Doesn't it look like he's laughing? haha!

They are so sweet together!

Long Week-No pictures!

Sorry about not blogging last week. I was crazy busy! I hosted a "Spooky Wine Tasting" at work on Friday night. It was a successful event and I had a blast decorating for it all day Friday. The rest of the weekend was spent catching up on much needed rest. Have you ever had one of those weeks when You feel like you don't have enough time to sleep and then all ofthe sudden it catches up with you all at once? I thinks that's what happened to me this weekend. I was SOOOO tired. We did go see Paranormal Activity 2 yesterday.

It was pretty spooky! This week should be a lot less crazy for me so I will be posting more. ha!

Productivity

Hiya! I had a great weekend. It was one of those weekends that we didn't really have any plans so we caught up on things around the house. It was actually very productive.

Friday: We have dubbed Friday nights in our house "Appetizer Night" Every Friday I make appetizers. Last Friday I made The Pioneer Woman's Mini Meatball Sammies. They were delicious! I used ground turkey instead of ground beef. Get the recipe here!

Saturday: I worked Saturday morning at a Plant Exchange for work. I got a lot a new plants for freeeee! Score! After I worked Hunter and I went to Central Market to check out the Hail to The Cheese festival that they were having. I also stocked up on some of their yummy produce!

We got a few different kinds of cheeses to try. We had wine and cheese on the patio when we got home. It was a really nice night.

Sunday: Poor Hunter. I just HAD to have a new flower bed for the new plants that I got on Saturday. He was a trooper though. He dug the new bed for me and I got to plant everything that I got. This little baby plant is actually a Texas Mountain Laurel tree. Yes, a TREE! I am going to take care of it until it is ready to be planted in the ground. Isn't it cute?

This was the flower bed BEFORE

And the was the finished product! It looks a little scrawny now. But I planted some bulbs that will bloom in the spring and there is a baby rose bush in the corner that will grow pretty big too! It was a lot of work so I jsut want to shout out to my awesome husband! Love you Hunter!
I also got some herbs at the Plant exchange, so I stuck them in this pot that I had right by the back door. I got Spearmint, Thyme, and Parsley! Yummo!

Have a great week!

You're always a little braver with friends

Do you remember being a kid and being scared to do something in fear that you might get in trouble or you might get hurt? Do you remember not being scared to do those same things when you had friends with you because for whatever reason you thought you had to show off? I do!
A couple of weeks ago I posted about Dewey being terrified of the pumpkins that I put out for Fall here? We are watching my parent's dog, Dublin, for them this week. Dewey and Dublin are brothers and they LOVE each other! We love having Dublin over because he and Dewey play together so well. They also are mischievous together. Those pumpkins that Dewey was so scared to even go near were not so scary with Dublin by his side. I walked into the living room last night to find this...
Yep, those are my pumpkins missing the little topper things. They ate them! And this is where I found Dewey and Dublin...
It's like they knew they were bad dogs! ha!

Hello Tuesday

It's Tuesday. Monday slipped away from me again. I really wish it would stop doing that. ha! I apologize in advance that there are no pictures for this post. I hate when I don't have any pictures to post. We had a great weekend. My grandma came in town from Houston so I got to spend some quality time with her on Saturday. We spent the day shopping, running errands, and eating. Those are some of my favorite things to do and then throw Grandma in the mix and it made it perfect! Saturday night we went to dinner for Hunter's mom's birthday. My parents and Grandma went too and it turned out to be a really nice dinner. I love that my family and Hunter's family get along so well. It makes everything so easy for us. Sunday was a sad day...the Rangers AND the Cowboys lost! boooo! I got the flu shot today. I really hate shots. It didn't even hurt, but the thought of getting a shots makes me want to throw up. It almost paralyzes me with fear. I know I'm a big baby! Have a great Tuesday!

Show Us Your Life- Kitchens!

This week's Show Us Your Life is taking us on tours of kitchens! I loved our kitchen when we bought our house because of all of the counter and cabinet space. I have decided that in our next house I am set on having an island. That is really the only requirement that I have on the new house. ha! The pictures that I am posting are actually from our listing so that were taken before I had any of my Fall decorations out and the counters look pretty bare because we were told to make it look as neat as possible. Enjoy!

Have a great weekend!

To Branson and back!

Hello there! I have been a bad blogger, I haven't posted in like a week! I promise that I have a really good reason. We took a mini-vacation to Branson! It was a much needed break from life. Why Branson you ask? I don't really know. I wanted to go to Eureka Springs, AR but I didn't want to stay there and Branson is only an hour from there so that's where we ended up. Branson wasn't exactly what I was picturing it to be. I guess I thought that it was quaint and rugged, not so my friend. It was full of flashing lights and celebrity impersonators and a population of over 80 years old. We still had a blast though! We stopped in Eureka Springs on the way to take a ghost tour of the old 1886 Crescent Hotel. That was a lot of fun even if I don't really believe in all of that stuff. I was showing one of my friends my pictures from the trip yesterday and she swears that there are a few pictures with orbs in them. I don't know...I think it is just the reflection of lights. ha! Eureka Springs as a whole thoroughly freaked me out. It was a creepy little place. The roads were very confusing and at some points I felt like they were trying to keep us there. ha! On Friday night we ate at a really cool restaurant on a cliff that looked over the "young" part of Branson where are of the bars and restaurants are. the weather was soooooo nice, we got to sit on the patio and the view was amazing! Saturday we spent the day at Dogwood Canyon. We did an 8 mile hike through the park. That was really relaxing, I definitely got my share of vitamin D! We spent Saturday night hanging out at this great place called Old Chicago. They had the best deep dish pizza and 100 beers on tap!! There was also this really cool water show at the outdoor mall in the little center that we were in that we stopped and watched. Sunday we headed back to reality and here I am!
