Prayers heard..

I just visited Kelly's blog and saw that she was doing a McLinky for prayer requests. I think that this is an awesome idea so I decided to link up and post a few prayers. I have tons of prayers, but I will try to keep the list manageable. I would like to pray for:

1. That my in-laws have a safe trip abroad
2. For my dear friend who just found out that she is expecting, I pray that she has a healthy pregnancy.
3. For the health of all of my friends and family.
4. For a friend's father who is having serious health problems
5. For a friend who is going through a terrible divorce.

These are just a few...thanks for praying with me :)

Love All,

Weekend in Review

We had a great weekend, too short, but great! Saturday we got all set up to stay at Hunter's parents while they are out of town and watch their dogs. It has been a little bit of an adjustment for me. I love my routine and when it gets out of whack, so do I. I am unfortunately a little like a toddler when it comes to that, I am working on it though :) After we bid farewell to my in-laws, Hunter took me out to one of my farovite restaurants to celebrate our anniversary. We went to Ferrari's in Grapevine where they have some of the best martini's known to man. It was all delicious, we had a great time! Sunday we continued the celebration and went to paly golf. It was so hard to wake up this morning, BUT I have something to look foward to this week....any guesses?

Five Question Friday!

Is it already Friday? Gee wiz, what a week! It's time for Mama M.'s 5QF! Hold on to your skirts, here we go!

1. Do you know how to play a musical instrument?
Not one. I wish I could play the piano. I actually thought about taking piano lessons not too long ago. I think that would be fun!
2. What is your pet peeve while driving?
I do not text and drive and I really do not like when people text and drive while I am the passenger, it makes me really nervous!
3. Would you rather have a housekeeper or unlimited spa services?
Didn't even have to think about that...definitely unlimited spa services! That would be my dream come true.
4. Is there a song that you hear that will take you back to the moment, like a junior high or high school dance?
"Earl had to Die" by the Dixie Chicks! When I hear that it's like a time warp right back to 10th grade!
5. What song best represents your life right now?
It would probably be "Chicken Fried" because that song reminds me of summer and hangin out. And honestly I don't have too much to complain about right now!

P.S. I played in my first golf tournament yesterday with one of my mom's good friends. It was a blast!

Three Years

Three years ago today I married my best friend. It has been an amazing three years with ups and downs, it has been OUR three years and I wouldn't trade them for anything. I pray everyday and let the good Lord know how thankful I am to have the life that I have with the great husband that I have been blessed with. Happy Anniversary Hunter and cheers to three years!

Fishing Fun

I had an event over the weekend for Father's Day. We have a huge pond in the community that I work at, so I had an idea. I called a company to come stock the pond with 500 pounds of fish and hosted "Fishing with Dad". We invited everyone in the community to come out and fish with their dad! I thought it was so cute. We had a great turnout and the kids absolutely had a ball! It was so much fun. Here are a few pics from Saturday.

Picking Colors & Starbucks

We had a great weekend, but it went by way too fast! I had an event at work on Saturday and Hunter was playing in the last round of golf for a tournament so Saturday was completely lost on us. Sunday we went out to our lot and visited the model home where we picked out our last few colors. We locked down brick color, exterior and interior paint, carpet color, cabinets, and granite color. We also went ahead and picked tile and grout as well. It was a little stressful considering that neither of us have ever matched colors like that before. I think it will all come together really nicely though. We stayed with pretty neutral colors for all of that and I figure that I will add splashes of color with my decorating. After we finished up there we were both pretty exhausted. That's it, that was our weekend in a nutshell!

P.S. I have been watching my calories again which means cutting way back. I treated myself to Starbucks this weekend. Oh how I've missed you, Grande Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte!

This week's on Show Us How You Live is China Patterns. I have to say that When we were registering for our wedding we went back and forth on China. We originally weren't going to get china because we thought that we wouldn't use it but we made a game time decision to go ahead and register for it. The reason for the decision was because we thought that we would never go out and get it ourselves (face it, there is always something else you need). I am glad the we did register for china, even though we haven't used it yet, I know that we will! Here is out pattern:

I love it because it is simple. Here is a picture of the set with an accent plate.
If I was going to get myself a second set, I would probably going with something more fun! Like this:
I think this is so fun! Have a great Friday!
Love All,

Five Question Friday!

It feels like I just did a 5QF! The week went by really fast. I have an event for work tomorrow morning. We are hosting a Ladybug Release, it should be fun! I will post pictures Monday! Anyways...on to Mama M.'s 5QF!!

1. What do you think makes a good friend, or friendship?
I think a truly good friend is someone that you can do absolutely nothing with and still have the best time in the world. I am so lucky to have a friend like that!

2. What is the last thing you bought & later regretted?

This is a good one. I am always buying stuff, I am getting better at not buying things that I don't need though :) The only things that I regret buying are the things that I spend a lot of money on and don't use. I would say that I regret buying our juicer because I don't use it, but I didn't buy it, it was a wedding gift. Ha!

3. Have you ever had a prank played on you?
Honestly I don't think I have other than the normal teenager hoopla of toilet papering each other's houses.

4. What is your favorite theme park?
I haven't been to a theme park in years. My parents took us to Seaworld when we were little and I thought that was awesome.

5. Have you ever seen someone else give birth? And I never will. I don't think I could handle that without passing out. Ha!

I love carbs. There it is for the world to know. I can't help it, I CRAVE carbs! Unfortunately, my hips do not love carbs. That is why I love the inventor of Spanks. If it wasn't for spanks, I would have to stay far away from all things carb related. I have recently been wanting pasta all the time. I was fighting the urges until I found this:

This stuff is really good, and it has less calories than most wheat pastas! I still try to limit how much I eat pasta, but now I don't feel as bad! ha!

Golf, Swimming, & Fresh Herbs!

Hello my blogger friends! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I did :) Saturday morning my mom and I had our garage sale, we sold almost everything and we were all cleaned up by noon! It was great. We didn't do much the rest of the day because we had to get up so early. Sunday we went to the driving range and hit balls for a couple of hours, it was HOT! We left the range and went straight to my parent's house and jumped in the pool. Ha! I'm sad to report that another weekend has gone by with nobody looking at our house. Insert sad face here. I am trying to stay positive, but that's hard.

Anyways...I saw this great idea in Southern Living:

If you have read my blog since the beginning then you know that I love to cook, but I am fairly new to it. I don't know a ton about cooking, but one thing that I have discovered is that I prefer fresh herbs over dried any day of the week. My problem is that I buy a bundle of fresh herbs and end up having to toss half of it because I don't use it up by the time it goes bad. Soooo...I am going to use a big huge pot that I have in my garage and plant different herbs in it. Cool right? I thought that I could put it on our back porch by the door, so all i have to do is open the door to fresh herbs! I think I will do parsley, Rosemary, and basil. Any other ideas or suggestions?

It's me again! I have not really participated in Kelly's Show Us Your Life posts yet this year. I decided to see what was going on over there today and I like what I saw! Today's Show Us Your Life is Random Acts of Kindness. I have been randomly kind before. You know just the usual stuff, holding doors for strangers, hosting showers for friends and smiling at people just because. Do you know that just by smiling you can make a random persons day better? You should try it! Here are some things that I would like to do:

1. Pay for a soldier's meal if I see them in a restaurant
2. Volunteer at the horse ranch near my house that specializes in horse therapy
3. Make a whole meal, dessert included, for a friend and drop it off at their house just because
4. Volunteer to read to kids at the children's hospital
5. Hang out with the people in retirement homes, I always thought that would be fun to hear their stories because you know they have a lot of them!
6. Send flowers to someone just because

These are just a few things that I could think of off the top of my head! Maybe I will have accomplished some of them by the end of this year!

Love All,

I know that this was only a four day week, but it really felt like a six day week! It just creeped by, so I am soooooo happy that today is Friday! Woo Hoo! And you know what that means....Mama M.'s Five Question Friday!

1. If you could go back to college would you change your major? Or, if you were to go to college right now...what major would you choose?
That is a really good question. I originally started school with the intention to be a teacher. Somewhere along the line I changed my mind, but it was a little late in the game to completely change my major without having to start over. Sooo, I have a degree in Child Development. Which makes no sense with the career path that I have chosen. I wouldn't change my major just for the pure fact that I LOVE kids and learning about why they do what they do, but if I could enroll in school today and get another degree I would probably go with Hospitality or Business.

2. What do you love most about your home?
Ummm...considering that I am selling mine right now and I don't really considerate to be "mine" anymore. In the three years that we spent together I guess I would have to say that I love the garden tub in the Master Bathroom.

3. What types of books do you like to read (if you like to read at all)?
I LOVE to read when I find the time. I will really read anything. I love all Nicholas Sparks books and of course my favorite is the Twilight series. Right now I am reading Water for Elephants and it's really good.

4. What is the grossest thing you've ever eaten?
I will try anything at least once. I have tried snails, it was ok, not terribly gross but probably not something that I would order again.

5. If you HAD to be a character on a TV show, whom would you be?
Oh my, you know how addicted to TV I am. This is a good one, do I have to pick just one? Out of all of the shows that I watch I would probably be Bree or Gabby on Desperate Housewives.

That's it for the questions, so see ya again with another 5 next Friday!

Where Have You Been All My Life?

I have to confess that being a "blogger" has opened doors (and windows) for me. I love reading and following other blogs and getting glimpses of other people's lives. I think it makes us all feel a little more "normal" (whatever that is) to see that we are not the only ones with flaws. In reading other blogs, I discovered Beth Moore. I have spent that last week reading about Living Proof Ministry and reading their blog. I have to tell you that I am in love. To be completely honest, I have heard and seen her name before but never really paid much attention. I am going this weekend to pick up one of her books. I can't wait to start reading it!

Dreaming the day away

I have had a itch that I can't get rid of. This little itch comes around about this time each year. It has started getting really hot here and I REALLY want to go to the beach. I don't really want to go too far, so I am thinking Gulf Shore, Alabama. I have heard several people talk about how great this place is, so I want to try it out. I have looked up pictures and it looks really pretty! I love nothing more than to lay on the beach with a good book and soak in the sun! So maybe, just maybe if I play my cards right I will end up here sometime this summer!

Back at it...

My 5 day weekend went by too fast, but it was great! I didn't even touch a computer until yesterday afternoon :) Here is a little recap of how I spent my blissful days off...

I woke up and decided that I was going to make a good breakfast. It didn't exactly turn out so good. This was my version of PW's homemade biscuits.Ooops...they were more like crunchy cookies. Hunter is such a trooper, he ate them anyways! ha! I guess I didn't make them thick enough. Oh well, you live and learn right?

I spent the day with my mom. We went to Coldwater Creek Spa and got massages, it was wonderful.

Hunter and I played gold with my mom and dad at their country club. It was HOT. I died and then came back to life just in time to finish the game. Saturday Night:

Hunter's parents had a BBQ. It was a lot of fun. My little brother even stopped by just long enough to eat! Ha! There he is: You cannot have a BBQ in Texas without beans and potato salad. My mom made these awesome beans and I made the potato salad. It was really good. I got the recipe from the May Southern Living-which by the way is my new best friend. Why did it take me so long to discover the secret of Southern Living?

We went to the Colonial. It was a lot of fun. It was HOT. I died again, but I came back to life just in time for Pappacitos on the way home.

And yesterday I caught up on housework and laundry. I also watched Dear John which is now on my top ten list!

Have a great Day!

Love All,
