Court Yard Hounds & 5 Day Weekend!!

To say that I am a Dixie Chicks fan is an understatement. I am a Super fan! I love these girls to pieces. I kind of feel like I grew up with them. They were pretty much all I listened to all through high school. I was so sad when they disappeared from the spotlight a few years ago because of bad choice of words...we won't go there.
But I am happy to report that they are back on the scene. Well Martie and Emily at least...and under a different name. But who cares about that right? They're back!
They sound great. Although I do love how Natalie's twang completed the group. Who knows how it will work out without her. I personally would love to see her come back! *Free Natalie*!

Here is a link to one of their songs on You Tube. You should check it out and tell me what you think!
*SIDE NOTE: I am off work starting tomorrow through Monday! Woo Hoo! All of you working girls out there know how good it feels to have a 5 day weekend! Yay for me!
**SIDE NOTE: Dewey stayed at my Mom & Dad's last night. I miss him!

The king of the laundry pile.

Every time I put clean laundry straight from the dryer on the couch to fold, Dewey jumps right on top of it to take a nap. I guess he likes that it is warm.
Or maybe he just thinks that he is the king :)

It's already that time again! Why is it the older I get, the faster the time goes? I remember when I was younger the days seemed to drag by, but now I can hardly keep up! ha! Anywho, it's time for Mama M.'s 5QF! You get to learn 5 more things about me that you didn't know before, aren't ya excited?

1. Do you have an iPhone and, if so, how do you get apps and what are your favorites?
Actually, I do! I am a newby as far as the iPhone is concerned. I am still learning. I get my apps from "the app store" application. And my favorites are The Weather Channel, Urban Spoon, Facebook, and Fandango. I really do love my iPhone, we get along well!

2. What is your fondest memory of K-3rd grade?
Wow diggin into the past, huh? Lets see....I remember that I really loved my third grade teacher, Ms. Melton. She was the sweetest person I have ever met. She made me feel so special.

3. What makes you cringe at the thought of touching?
OOOO....this is a good one. There are plenty of things that really gross me out. But what really gets my stomach in knots is touching any kind of lump or knot on myself or anyone else. I know that sounds so weird, but what can I say? I'm pretty weird. That was the first thing that came to mind because just yesterday a friend at work wanted me to feel this knot on her leg and it made me pass out. Not really, but almost! ha!

4. If you could have any celebrity show up on your doorstep who would it be and why?
OMG. I am such a celebrity groupie. I love all of the trash mags-I just can't stop reading them! So this is going to be tough. I think I would really LOVE to meet Nicole Kidman. She seems so classy and refined. I feel the same way about Sally Field. They both seem like they would be very intelligent. I would love to have coffee with either one of them!

5. What would you say is your best physical feature?
Ew...I don't even know. I guess if I had to pick I would say my eyes. I get a lot of compliments on my eyes.

If you are stopping by for the first time, Favorite Things Thursday, is a blog post that I do every week (ok, ok, almost every week). Every Thursday I share one of my favorite things with all of you blog readers out there. This is just a fun way for me to share with you the things that really make my skirt fly up! So this week I wanted to share with you how much a absolutely love Pandora Internet Radio. This is the best invention ever and it's so easy to use! All you do is go to the Pandora website and "create" different radio stations that you like. For example, my heart belongs to the 80's, so I type in Heart for one of my station and it plays nothing but music related to Heart. So not only o I get Heart, I also get Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Pat Benetar, and Blondie. But it doesn't stop there, it goes on and on. I used to love to listen to Pandora on my computer at work, but when i joined the rest of my generation and got an iPhone, I downloaded the Pandora App on my phone and now I can listen to it everywhere! I'm amazed. Check it out!

TV Lover

Yes...I admit it in writing that I love TV. I have shows lined up every night that I either watch or DVR. It's actually really sad how attached I get. Ha! So to say the least, this is a sad time of year for me. All of the season finales have been on for the past two weeks. I feel depressed. And to add to it, that new show Happy Town has been taken off the air for a break. We only got to see three episodes! Come on!

It isn't the best show out there but I like it and it would have been a good filler until the other shows come back in the Fall. I still have the Grey's finale tomorrow night so I'm excited about that, and I do love True Blood which will be back on in June! I can't wait! So that's it, I have let you in on one of my dirty little secrets :)

Manual Labor

We worked in the yard all weekend. We are trying to make it look super pretty for when we put it on the market next week. Well, I say that I did yard work, but really Hunter did most of the work and I did this:

I just love taking pictures of flowers! They are so pretty! So our goal date to get our house listed is next Monday so we will be working our tail feathers off this week to get everything ready! Have a great week~

1. Take your night, girls night out, or night out alone?
I would have to pick date night. Hunter and I don't really get too many of those because he travels a lot and we stay so busy when he is home. So date night are really nice. I do girls nights when he is gone-so it all evens out!

2. Can you touch your nose with your tongue?
No. And yes I just tried. Ha!

3. What is your favorite flower and why?

I love all fresh flowers. But my absolute favorite is Stargazer Lillies. I love, love they way that they smell and they are so pretty!

4. If you could go back in time, what advice would you give yourself?
Ha! You know, I really wouldn't tell myself anything too important. I think that making the mistakes that I did and learning from them made me a better person. I would probably tell myself to focus more on my grades and not so much on who's who and who's doing what because in the end that doesn't really matter.

5. If you won the lottery, what is the very first thing you would do?
What a good question. I would buy our new house!

So we had our first meeting yesterday with a realtor. It didn't do much to encourage me that this whole thing will end up well. She pretty much end up telling me that she didn't think that we would be able to sell at what we want to list the house at. She was even a little positive. To me, if you are trying to sell your services to someone, you should be a little positive. Is that just me being crazy? Thanks...I didn't think so either.

margaritas, grandma, and fast food

I hope all of you mothers out there were able to spend the weekend with your kids! I had a great weekend. It started out with this: Man, there is nothing like ending a Friday with a great margarita! My grandma came in town to spend the weekend here. I was glad that I got to go have Mexican food with her and the family on Friday night after work. We had fun!

Saturday I had an event at work and I was so jealous because mom took grandma out for lunch and to the movies, it sounded so relaxing and I had to be a work. We had a Wine Tasting which actually went very well and I was only there for about 4 hours, so it wasn't that bad. Sunday morning we went out to brunch with my family and Hunter's family. We are so lucky that our families get along well enough to do things like this together. It makes it so much easier on us!

On a side note: when I put my pants on this morning, they were a little snug. I went about a year without eating much fast food and for some reason I fell off that wagon and then it ran over me. I guess it's time to get back on it again. No more fast food for me. Easier said than done. Please send prayers.

5 Question Friday!

I missed last week because I was out of town, it got me all out of sorts. But I'm back on schedule now with Mama M.'s 5QF! Here we go!

1. What is your worst memory of your siblings?
Worst memory? None, my brother and I got along perfectly and were total angels. Ha! Not really. We fought like we wanted to kill each other when we were little. There is a 6 year gap between us, so I was an only child for 6 whole years. And then all of the sudden there was this baby around taking all of the attention that was normally on me. I loved him until he could walk and get into my things, then it was on like donkey kong! I think one of the worst fights we ever had was when we were on a Summer vacation. I was about 12 which would make him 6. We had a suburban that we took to the beach to stay for like a week. It was one morning of the vacation-and let me tell you that I have NEVER been a morning person- and I was kind of grumpy. I don't really remember how it started but it ended with me a my brother rolling around the car trying to poke each others eyes out. It was bad. Really bad. My parents threatened to end the vacation right then and there and take us home. Thanks mom and dad for not throwing us to the sharks-literally-that day!

2. What was YOUR naughtiest childhood memory? (Must be something YOU did, no pawning it off on someone else!)
I can honestly say that I was the most well behaved child. My parents never really ha to get on to me for anything. Now my teenage years-totally different story.

3. Where do you like to go to relax?
I love to go to the beach to relax. But, since we are not close to a beach I have to settle for poolside with a good book in my parent's backyard!

4. What was the last thing you won?
Hmmmm....I don't really win much. Sad, I know :(

5. If you could be on a game show, which would you choose?
Didn't even have to think about it...ever since I was little I always wanted to be on The Price is Right! I remember watching it everyday!

Favorite Things Thursday!

With all of the talk about moving at our house lately, I was prompted to do a little window shopping for some things that I would like to get once we are all moved into a new house. I have discovered that I have unearthed a deep passion for Pottery Barn.

I love the simple farmhouse style with a flair, if you will. I totally feel at ease and relaxed when I am at at a Pottery Barn store. I guess there marketing has worked on me! Ha!
So I did a little more then window shop, I allowed my self to enter the store and have a little look around and man am I glad that I did because I found my match made in heaven.
This couch....oh my....this couch. As soon as I sat down we were in love. It's me and you against the world baby. One day I will have this couch to never ever remove myself from. We will meet again.

Quick Trip, Donettes, & Summer Wreath

Last weekend we took a very quick trip to San Antonio. Hunter, being the very thoughtful guy that he is, bought tickets to take me to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra. As I said, very thoughtful. The original plan was to stay the whole weekend. That changed after we started talking about everything that we wanted to do before we put our house on the market. We decided to wake up Saturday and get some breakfast and head out around Noon. Sounds simple right? Wrong. Hunter took his clothes to the cleaners on Thursday afternoon with the plan to pick them up on Saturday when we got back home. Little did we know that the new cleaners that we started using closes at Noon on Saturday and Hunter HAD to have his clothes first thing Monday morning for work. Pain in the rear. So what started out to be a relaxing weekend, ended up with us rushing around. The short time that we were in San Antonio was fun. I love the river walk and we got to walk around a little. We headed back home at 6:30 AM on Saturday morning!! Early....I know! So to reward myself for getting up so early on Saturday I got TWO bags of Donettes, onr chocolate and one powdered, and I ate them ALL! ha!

Isn't this the sweetest thing that you have ever seen? This couple was just sitting there watching a water fall across the river. I just had to take a picture of them :)

Lately I have been pretty stressed out with life. I have been doing my best to try and not sweat the small stuff as they say. But with work and trying to sell our house and buy a new one, it has all been pushing me closer and closer to the edge. Ha! When I feel super stressed it helps if I do something that completely takes my mind off things for a while. Normally I cook or bake something yummy. But I decided that this week, I was going to try my hand at being a little crafty and make a Summer wreath for our front door. A sweet friend gave me a gift card to Hobby Lobby for my birthday that I hadn't used yet, so I thought it would be perfect! I was a little scared at first, but it turns out that it was quite easy and it totally worked and I de-stressed a little. Here is the work in progress, I hope that I can finish it tonight!

I jut had to show you this picture. Dewey got a bath last night and he wasn't very happy with me taking a picture of him right after! Look at how he is looking at me! He really looks like he has a little attitude! I love him to death!!
