Weekend in Review- And 100th Post!!

Break out the bubbly! This is my 100th post! It doesn't feel like I have posted that many times, if there are any of you who are still reading out there-thanks for sticking with me!

So most of this past weekend was spent celebrating my birthday. No numbers. It was a great birthday-I truly have the best family and friends, and Hunter is pretty darn great too! This was me on the last night of the celebration (yes, it lasted for three nights!) Hey, this girl knows how to celebrate.

Come Monday morning I was completely exhausted and it took everything in me to get out of bed for work. But here I am and it's Tuesday already. This week is going to fly by! So on Sunday I was grilling some pork chops on the back patio and i felt something rubbing on my leg, I looked down and there was this cute little cat.

Cute, right? Yeah, right until he tried to get in the house!

This little guy was not very happy about our guest! He was on the inside of the door freaking out!

It's already that time again. I don't know about you, but that week jsut flew by for me! Crazy nuts. Anywho-here goes with this week's questions.

1. Did you pass your driver's test on the first try?
Of course I did! Iwas so nervous that I was going to miss to many questions that I almost wet my pants! I didn't have to do any actual driving for my test, just the written part. I honestly don't know how I feel about that, part of me thinks that kids should have to do the actual driving part too. But then I remember how nervous I was just taking the written exam and I feel sorry for me :)
2. What is your most embarrassing moment?
Being clumsy and uncoordinated, you tend to have alot of emabrrasing moments.

If I had to pick one I would say that it was when I was a freshman in high school. There was a giant staircase that lead to the cafeteria. During lunch I was walking up the stairs and tripped and fell back down in front of the whole school! I was pretty darn embarrassed!
3. What TV show would you like to be on- Oprah, Biggest Loser, or What Not to Wear?
I think that I would like to be on the biggest loser. I don't really need to lose weight but man if I did I would need someone yelling at me constantly to do it! That's what I call motivation!
4. Would you ever get plastic surgery and what kind?

Revealing secrets here, huh? I confess that I have thought about what I would get "done". I would want botox, but that doesn't really even count. Honestly, I'm such a chicken when it comes to going under the knife, or even going to the doctor for that matter, that I don't think I would have anything major done. Ask me again in 30 years!
5. What are your favorite jeans to wear?

My absolute favorite jeans are a pair of very worn in American Eagle jeans. They are sooooo comfortable! Recently I had to lay them to rest, they got a huge whole right in between the legs-not attractive!

Ok so if you know me at all then you know that I am a little crazy for the Twilight Series. So in honor of the New Moon dvd being released last week, I feel that I must as a true fan, dedicate this post to New Moon. This is truly one of my very favorite things! Hunter and I went to Target to do our normal grocery shopping for the week (and so I could get New Moon) last weekend. He decided that he would also get me the soundtrack to the movie since I'm so crazy over it. They had the movies displayed with tones of other Twilight and New Moon stuff. At the very bottom of the display they had these!

Yep, that's right, plates and napkins! And since my birthday is fast approaching Hunter bought a couple of each to have a New Moon birthday party! I know I'm crazy, you don't have to tell me. So the girls at my office had lunch for my birthday on Wednesday and I took the plates and napkins to use! Ha! Fortunately there is another girl at work who feels that same way I do!

That's a spicy Meat-a-ball!

No not really, they are not spicy at all.

I got the recipe for these delicious little babies from Paula Deen's website. I adapted it a little bit to make it somewhat healthier. It was actually pretty easy. Here's what you need

1 lb. ground pork

2 eggs

1 1/2 cups bread crumbs

1/2 cup fresh chopped parsley

1 tsp. dried basil

1 tsp. dried oregano

Kosher salt to taste

fresh pepper to taste

fresh mozzarella cut into cubes

In a large mixing bowl, combine pork, eggs, parsley, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Add the bread crumbs 1/2 cup at a time. Mix well until the meat mixture is dry and easily formed into a ball. (I used a large wooden spoon, but feel free to dive right in with your-clean-hands!) Form into balls and poke a hole in the top of each meatball with your finger, place a mozzarella cube in each meatball. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with angel hair pasta and your favorite sauce! YUMMO!

Five Question Friday!

Can you believe that it is already Friday? Or even better, the month of March is already half way over! Where does the time go? Anyways, moving on the Mama M.'s 5QF!

1. Have you ever had a celeb sighting?
Yes, a few. One was at the Dallas Mavericks basketball game. We were sitting not to far from Adrian Brody. That one was not that exciting to me. Last year we went to a restaurant called Nick & Sams for New Year's eve and apparently Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo were in the back eating. That one was really exciting even though I didn't actually see them.

2. What temperature do you keep your house?

I like to keep it at 68 degrees all year long! In the winter I will even let it get down to 65. I love it cold!

3. Do you notice dust at other peoples homes?
Yes! And I always feel bad for it. I don't know why, I don't think bad about it, I just always notice if there is dust.

4. What's the worst job you ever had?
I have been pretty lucky to honestly be able to say that I have enjoyed all of the jobs that I have had. I worked at a preschool through college and I loved that. I worked at a bagel shop in high school with my best friend and we always had a great time. And I am a Lifestyle Director now for a community and I get to plan parties, what's not to love about that?

5. What is your most sentimental possession?
I think that most people who know me would agree that I am not very sentimental. If I had to pick something that I have it would probably be all of my ballet shoes. I still have my first pair from when I was 3 years old!

Favorite Things Thursday

I will preface this post by saying that I really truly believe myself to be a bargain shopper. I love sales and anything that I can get for a discount. I do not normally shop for name brand things, clothes and shoes from anywhere do me just fine as long as they are cute. In fact just to prove my point I will let you in on a little secret, I get a lot of my work clothes from Old Navy. Yeppers, you heard me right. I just can't get enough of Old Navy, they have everything from casual to dressy. I feel at home when I'm there. Ok, I'm getting carried away. That happens sometimes. So with all of that being said I have recently realized that there is one thing that I absolutely will not budge on: mascara. When I first started wearing makeup I believed that it was all the same...the young version of me could not be more wrong. If you read my blog often then it will be no surprise to you when I say that I am a Clinique fan. I love everything that they have and I normally don't stray, except for mascara. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Lancome Hypnose mascara.
Hello my beautiful baby. This mascara is not very expensive, at $22 a tube. I think that is pretty reasonable. Price is not the reason that I decided to try a different kind, no it was not the price, that would be my laziness. I was at Target doing my normal shopping when I decided to just grab some mascara while I was there, that would eliminate one more stop, right? So I have heard so much about the Loreal Lash Explosion, I thought that I would give it a try. Disaster!
I know what you are thinking, the tube looks mesmerizing. I would agree, but that it all it has to offer. I looked like a clown with clumpy eyelashes when I put this stuff on. So moral of the story: Lancome is my favorite and I will never stray again!

Top of the Mornin' to ya!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Since I am more than a little Irish, I feel that it is my obligation to celebrate this holiday with lots of food and more important drinks! Do you know where the origin of St. Patrick's Day started? Me either, so this morning I read up on it. It is basically about a man named Patrick who was kidnapped by Irish bandits and held captive for six years, in which this time he became a devout Christian. After his escape to Britain, he became an ordained minister and returned to Ireland to convert the Irish pagans. So basically St. Patrick was responsible for bringing Christianity to Ireland. As I was reading this story, one thing really popped out. St. Patrick's Day always falls during Lent, the local Bishop had the authority to lift the obligation to abstain from eating meat during the celebration. Soooo, I guess that means that I can eat a dessert tonight?? Ha! I think I just might!

a little bit of this and a little bit of that

That weekend went by too fast, but I guess they always do. We had a really good weekend. Saturday was my Dad's birthday so he took us all out to dinner at Ruth's Chris, it was soooo good and I ate more than my tummy should ever be able to hold :) Then after dinner we went to see Fiddler on the Roof. I thought the show was great! I would have to say it was probably the best musical I have seen so far!
I spent the better half of Sunday doing a little Spring cleaning. My plan was to clean the whole house. I started in the kitchen and it took me 4 hours! And my kitchen is not that big at all. I cleaned it from head to toe, cabinets inside and out, and I did a little reorganizing in the pantry. By the time I was done with the kitchen I was pooped, so the rest of the house will have to wait until next weekend, ha!
Yesterday was a gorgeous day here, sunny and 70! You can't ask for much better than that. After i cleaned the kitchen, we decided to venture to the park, Dewey was due for another visit. He did really really well until a dog ran up to him viciously barking and growling. The dog was really small, but you know my poor Dewey, he was scared out of his mind! What really kind of angered me was that the other dog was on a leash and the owner was not pulling it back and just kind of laughed. I was practically holding Dewey up by his harness. What is it with people and dog manners? Not needless to say, and progress that we made was nonexistent after that little incident. I guess we will have to start over!
P.S. sorry about having NO pictures to share, my camera is sick, I should have it back this week though!

Happy Monday!

5QF! Better late then never!

I know..it's so late for me. Considering that I am normally winding down for bed right now...it's Friday though...I'm stayin up LATE! Ha! Anyways...here goes Mama M's Five Question Friday!

1. How much time do you spend on the computer a day?
Well...let's just say that I spend way more time on the computer than I should. I HAVE to be on the computer for work, but I guess I could lessen my personal hours on the computer to even it out. I used to have a killer tan because I was always outside. I'm sportin the vampire look these days because I am always inside on the computer.
2. Will you pay for your children's college or raise them to pay for their own way?

That's a hard one to answer since I am not even thinking about kids yet. I imagine that I will help them. My parents paid my way, but I always had a job to pay for the extras and that seemed to work out. For me anyway :)
3. Have you ever been in a car accident?
Unfortunately YES, a few. The worst one was when I was in High School. My best friend was driving down a two lane country road at night. A raccoon ran in front of the car and instead of hitting the brakes she hit the accelerator, and there we went. We crossed the road and spun a few time and eventually ended up in a ditch. We both walked away completely unharmed. We were very lucky girls...I do believe than one or both of our angels was with us that night!

4. What is your favorite book?
Promise you won't laugh? You are soooo going to laugh. It's a series and it is the only series of books that i have read the whole way through...I am actually finishing it for the fourth time around right now. I just can't get enough of it! Are you ready....none other than...TWILIGHT...go ahead and laugh.
5. Do you make your bed everyday?
Absolutely...no questions asked. Hunter helps out with this one. I just cannot get into an unmade bed....it's just not right!

Five Question Friday!

It's time for Mama M's 5QF! I have never been so happy to see Friday in my life!

1. What's your guilty pleasure?
oh no. here it goes...I watch The Secret Life of An American Teenager. Yes, you heard that correctly, and I like it. There was a marathon on one day and I just started watching and now I can't stop.

2. What is your favorite TV series?
Being the TV lover that I am, that is a hard question to answer. There is a 4-way tie, I know ridiculous. Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, Private Practice, and The Vampire Diaries. (Another guilty pleasure) :)

3. Can you speak any foreign languages?
I took a few years of French in high school. I can read it pretty well, but speak it? No, not at all.

4. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
I'm am not even going there. The end.

5. What's your favorite kind of M&M's...peanut, almond, straight up regular, etc.?
Bring on the almonds baby!

moving makes me grumpy

I can't deny it. I have been grumpy this week. We moved our office at work to a new location. While I really do enjoy the new office space, moving makes me grumpy. On top of having to throw my work life into boxes and pull it all out again I have a cold. A bad one. I'm trying to see the bright side of it, at least I can still get out of bed in the morning, right? But I'm still grumpy.
