5QF!

It Friday! WooHoo! That can only mean one thing...It's time for Mama M.'s Five Question Friday! Hold on to your skirts...here we go...

1. Do you sing karaoke? If so, what is your go to song?
Yes! I love karaoke~now if only the people who have to listen to me loved how I sound :) For some reason I love to sing country songs. I know I'm weird. I don't really have one in particular that I just love to sing, anything really!

2. What is your favorite coffee drink?
Hands down, Starbucks, Grande Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte!

3. If you could choose your own name, what would it be?
Annabelle. I can't explain it.

4. Were you ever bullied?
Aren't we all?

5. How often do you eat fast food?
I really try my best not to eat fast food because it's so addicting. Once I start, I really can't stop. I limit my self to once every two weeks. It never works, I always end up telling myself to shut up and eat before you starve to death! ha!

I heart starbucks & skinny jeans

Since today is Thursday and I know that you are just at the edge of your seat waiting to hear what my favorite thing is this week...just kidding.... I gave it away in my post title anyway. ha! Can you tell that I am feeling a little goofy today? We are moving office locations at work and all the stress is getting to my brain! On to my favorite things...

I have two favorites that I would like to reveal today. The first is Starbucks. I know what you're thinking, $5 for a cup 'o joe! I know it's crazy, but it really really IS the best. I have cut back to two or three times a week and all of my family members now give me Starbucks gift cards on holidays to feed my habit. I really get grouchy if I don't get my Starbucks AT LEAST once a week! I found this picture and I can so relate...Don't judge

So a few weeks ago I went out with my best friend. She had on the cutest skinny jeans ever. They looked really flattering on her. So I just had to ask where she got them...are you ready for this....none other than the great Target! I tend to be a little "hippy" so I have never thought that a pair of skinny jeans would look good on me. By the end of the night she had me convinced that I NEEDED a pair of skinny jeans in my life. So I broke down and went to Target the next week, and guess what, I love them more than Leonardo DiCaprio's sexy brow furrow. I love how the jeans fit into my boots! I wear them all the time and I don't even feel all that jiggly!

A Walk in the Park

So yesterday started out really rainy. There is nothing that makes me feel more lazy than a rainy Sunday. Luckily for me the clouds parted and it turned out to be a really nice afternoon. We decided to take Dewey to the park by our house because he has been having "social" issues. Yes, I just said that my sweet little puppy has social issues. He seems to do well with other dogs but he is terrified of people. We talked to the vet about this a while back but she told us to just keep taking him around people and he would eventually get used to it. So yesterday being such a nice day, and we haven't had one of those in a while, we decided that there would probably be a lot of people at the park. So off we went.

We had so much snow a couple of weeks ago that it is still melting and draining off. This is usually not running this hard. It was really pretty though.

My little Dewey started out really scared of everything he saw. This is us on a bridge and as you can see he is trying to back away from me. He was watching a family on their bikes coming up behind me. He is soooo scared of bikes and skate boards. I feel so bad for him sometimes.

He did much better as we kept on walking down the path. He didn't even try to get away when bikes passed us at the end of our walk. I think that a few more crowded days at the park will really be good for Dewey.

Have a wonderful Monday!

5 Question Friday!

I'm finally back into the swing of things! This is the first "full" 5 day week that I have had in a month! I have missed Mama M.'s 5QF dearly! Mama M., I promise to never leave you again :) Here goes nothin'!

1. Have you ever hit an animal with your vehicle?
Oh my gosh....yes. I still get goosebumps thinking about it. It was a dark rainy night on a two lane country road. And when I say "rainy", I mean pouring. I could barely see the road. I wasn't going very fast, but I swear the little armadillo just came out of nowhere! My car sits pretty low to the ground so I could feel him hit the bottom of my car, like practically under my seat! I felt so bad! For years I have told myself that his hard shell protected him and he went on his way. It helps me sleep at night!

2. When you see a string on your clothes do you pull it off or cut if off?
It depends on what I am wearing and how lazy I am feeling at that moment in time. If it is considered "work clothes" then I will cut it, anything other than that gets ripped off!

3. Did you have your own room or share a room when you were young?
Are you kidding? I was the little Queen B around my house. That and the fact that it was just me and my brother and we were six years apart. That would have been kind of weird.

4. Would you rather wear the same thing for the rest of your life or eat the same thing for the rest of your life?
Wow that's hard. I have to think about that one. I don't know that I could bear to wear the same thing over and over. I could eat something over and over, sure I would get tired of it eventually but I would being wearing something darn cute when I did!

5. What was your favorite TV show as a child?
Hands down, Silver Spoons!

goodbye my lover

Aren't these the most devilish little things you have ever seen? These are mini Chocolate Molten Lava cakes that I made on Valentine's Day. Sweets for my Sweet! I got the recipe on Tasty Kitchen, which I live for by the way. Since today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, I had to decide what I am giving up this year....drumroll please....I will not be having any sweets for 40 days. I know, crazy, I should be admitted for even thinking that I can pull this off. Oh but the will power is strong in this one! We'll see how it goes....

A New Day

You are not going to believe me when I tell you where I was yesterday. But you are going to just have to trust me. My uncle Bob lost his two year battle with cancer last Friday night. My mom called me while I was at the birthday party for my friend we lost last week. He planned a big celebration for his 30th birthday-so we went anyway and celebrated for him.

So yesterday we packed up the car and made the two hour journey to Centerville, TX to be at Uncle Bob's funeral. I know, I know, I have been to two funerals in two weeks. I'm tired. The thing that made me really sad was to see my aunt. She was being so strong yesterday but I know that her heart has been ripped in two. She lost her soul mate and she was able to smile that sweet smile when she saw us come in. How hard that must have been for her to smile, but she did. I hate to question why things happen that way they do, I know that we are supposed to accept it as part of the Plan, but it's hard sometimes to not just say "why"? It's hard to let go of things we know and love. But we do, and we move on, and the sun still shines. It's a new day.

You will be missed Uncle Bob. We love you.

SHOW US YOUR LIFE-VALENTINE'S DAY!

Every year for Valentine's Day we got out for Italian. We had our first date at a quiet little Italian restaurant and there is something inexplicably romantic about an Italian dinner. My favorite Italian cuisine is Maggianos.

The ravioli there makes my skirt fly up! I love it so much that I almost always eat way too much and feel completely awful after dinner. Which now that I think about it-that's not very romantic! ha! This year we are probably going to stay in and keep it low key to avoid that Valentine's Day crowd. Since I have been refining my cooking skills I will make a special dinner and then maybe we will watch a movie or something! Happy Valentine's Day!

too young to feel this old

This past weekend was a long one. Saturday morning we went to the funeral for our friend Mitchell who passed away suddenly last week, one week before his 30 birthday. It was hard to be there but necessary for the grieving process.
Saturday night we went out to Dallas celebrate our friend's 30th birthday. We all got hotel rooms downtown and partied until they made us leave!

We had an awesome time but when Sunday came around I was worthless! What is it about getting older that makes hangovers awful? I don't get it. When I was 21 I could got out night after night over and over again and it never phased me, but now-forget it! I felt bad that I did not do one thing on Sunday, not one. No Laundry, no cleaning, no dinner. You would have thought that I drank the whole bar, but I didn't. Honestly I really didn't drink that much. This old body just can't keep up with my young soul! ha!

On top of my partying ways this weekend and being completely bed ridden after, my best friend from Houston called me last night and said that she was in town and wanted me to come meet her. So of course I did! So as you can imagine I am exhausted today! Well I'm off...have a great week!

SHOW US YOUR LIFE-BEAUTY PRODUCTS

I haven't done a Show Us Your Life post in a few Fridays. Actually this is the first one that I have e done in 2010! This is week is "Beauty Products", my favorite thing in the whole wide world. There is just something about things that make me feel pretty and girly that I can't get enough of! If you read my blog regularly then you know that I posted about this not to long ago. One of my favorite products in Kinerase.
You can not believe how this product makes your skin feel. It's AMAZING! I also love love Marc Jacobs Daisy. I have about 12 different kinds of perfume. I don't have this particular one yet because I'm trying to justify getting just one more! ha! I think I really need it and Valentine's Day is coming up really soon, so maybe I will have to put a bug in Hunter's ear!

Going to the Chapel....

No No...not me! I have already been there and done that! ha! This girl went to the Chapel:

And we had a blast doing it! Doesn't she look stunning? I went to Houston last week where all of the wedding festivities took place. There was a Fiesta the first night, the fabulous rehearsal dinner the second night, and finally the wedding was on the third night! I am still recovering from everything. I got to see friends that I haven't seen in so long:

I loved our hotel. The whole theme of the wedding was vintage and we stayed at the cutest little boutique hotel. Everything was downtown so it definitely had the urban feel to it too. It was amazing. I can't wait to see the pictures that the photographer took!

what a way to start the week...

so I went in to the dentist's office to day to get my permanent crown put in from the dreaded root canal a few weeks ago. I went in with my head held high because I was told that this was the easy part. So I have to admit that I got a little worried when I heard the dentist tell her assistant to start with the topical numbing stuff. Oh crap...here we go. My hands started sweating and my hear t started beating triple time. I couldn't stop the shivers running through my whole body. But I remained as calm as I could, I kept telling my self "don't worry, you already got through the root canal part, this will be easy".

....3 1/2 hours later I was finally leaving the dentist office. Ouch. It's now 4 hours later and the numbness is wearing off...Ouch.

On a lighter note, my best friend got married over the weekend. I am working on a wedding post for tomorrow. TTFN!
